Alan Banov may also be able to help litigants
and attorneys with non-adversarial services: mediation,
arbitration, and testifying as an expert witness.
Mediation and arbitration
Mr. Banov has been a mediator with the Montgomery County
Human Relations Commission (MCHRC) since 1994 and a mediator
with the Superior Court of the District of Columbia since
1998. In these capacities, he has mediated dozens of
cases –employment and public accommodation discrimination
cases before MCHRC and mostly personal injury cases in
Superior Court. In many cases, he has successfully helped
the parties reach settlements. Mr. Banov is available
to help litigants settle their disputes through alternative
dispute resolution.
Expert testimony
A number of times other employment lawyers have contracted
with Alan Banov to serve as an expert witness, generally
in cases where a prior employment lawyer’s conduct
is at issue. In one such case, Lockhart v. Cade, 728
A.2d 65 (D.C. 1999), the D.C. Court of Appeals quoted
Mr. Banov in its opinion. He may also be of value in
either helping to evaluate your case or testifying about
whether there was discrimination.
